Dave was born in Windsor, Nova Scotia where he received his early education at Windsor Elementary, Windsor Academy and Windsor Regional High before moving on to Dalhousie University to pursue an education in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology. Post grad work followed at N. Teachers College, Mount St. Vincent University and Acadia University.
